HolidayGrow FAQ
1. Is this microplastic?
No. After watering, the product forms a soft water gel that acts as a water reservoir in the root zone. It is not hard, durable plastic pellets.
2. What is it made of?
A superabsorbent based on Potassium Polyacrylate (K⁺).
3. Why potassium and not sodium?
Potassium is a plant nutrient, sodium is not and is undesirable in higher amounts. The potassium form avoids sodium input into the soil.
4. Does the hydrogel stay in the soil forever?
No. During use, structural weakening and gradual degradation occur – depending on moisture, temperature, microflora, etc.
5. Is it harmful to roots or plants?
When dosed correctly, it stabilizes the water supply in the root zone.
6. Does the plant absorb the gel?
No. The plant absorbs water and nutrients, not the gel itself.
7. What about the concern when smoking the plant later?
The product is used exclusively in the root area, not on aerial plant parts.
8. How can I see this for myself?
A simple test: plastic pellets remain unchanged, our product swells and forms a gel. We show further tests in videos.
9. What distinguishes it from other hydrogels?
The potassium form (K⁺), the soil-friendly application and the controlled quality.
10. Where can I find documents?
We provide Safety Data Sheets (SDS) as well as dosing and application instructions to partners upon request.
11. Does the gel change the pH value?
No, HolidayGrow has an optimal pH value and is chemically neutral. It serves as a natural water reservoir for soil and plants, without changing soil properties or pH value.
12. Can I mix the gel into a potted plant later?
No, the gel must be incorporated into the substrate or soil from the beginning. Only then can it fully develop its water absorption and storage effect.
13. Does HolidayGrow affect soil life or microorganisms?
On the contrary – HolidayGrow was specifically developed to promote soil life. It creates a consistently moist environment that supports microorganisms and root growth. Feel free to watch the video from Garten Eden to learn more about its effects.
14. Can the gel be reactivated in the soil if the stored water is used up?
Yes, HolidayGrow can be recharged again and again. The slower it is recharged, the better the granules can absorb the water. Water until the water runs out; the gel will absorb it slowly.
15. How long does HolidayGrow last in the soil? Can I use it multiple times?
The gel is durable for up to 5 years and then slowly decomposes biologically – completely without toxic residues in the soil. It can be reactivated multiple times during its lifespan.
16. Can I simply re-water after about 4 weeks and then have peace of mind again?
Not entirely. Your plants' water needs change with growth.
- During the vegetative phase, young plants, cuttings, or seedlings require less water.
- During the flowering phase, consumption increases significantly.
Therefore, the gel noticeably extends watering intervals in the first few weeks, but these shorten again in later phases. Towards the end of our test, we only had to water every 5–7 days – an enormous help despite increasing water demand.
17. Is HolidayGrow compatible with Autopot, Blumat, or drip irrigation systems?
Yes, HolidayGrow works perfectly with automatic irrigation systems such as Autopot, Blumat, or drip systems.
Since the gel absorbs water slowly, it harmonizes ideally with steady water supplies – you even use less water and the soil remains more consistently moist.
